Job summary

Aerotek in Washington, MO is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC mills or lathes, adjust programs at the machine, and produce precision parts in a climate-controlled shop.

You will inspect parts with calipers and other tools, perform first/last piece inspections, and help maintain documentation and machine upkeep. This contract-to-hire role offers a four 10-hour day schedule and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience setting up and operating CNC mills or lathes.
• Ability to verify quality using calipers and inspection tools.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC mills or CNC lathes with tooling and fixtures to meet job requirements.
• Operate CNC equipment to produce machined parts per drawings and specs.
• Run CNC programs and adjust at the machine to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
• Verify parts meet dimensional and quality specifications.
• Use precision measuring equipment to inspect completed parts.
• Perform first-piece and last-piece inspections to confirm process stability.
• Inspect for burrs and quality issues and take corrective action.
• Complete routing, production, and quality documentation accurately.
• Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and keep area clean and safe.
