Job summary

Chromalloy is a global engineering and solutions company seeking a Machinist (2nd Shift: 3:00 pm-11:30 pm) to operate and program CNC and manual machines, producing high-quality, precision components. The role requires attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to read blueprints with minimal supervision.

You will use micrometers, calipers, and GD&T to inspect parts, perform tool offsets, and collaborate with a team to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Trade school certificate or machining specialization preferred.
• Experience operating CNC and/or manual machinery valued but not required.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain CNC and manual machine tools to fabricate or repair precision components, working within tight tolerances.
• Analyze blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machine setups, procedures, and optimal machining sequences.
• Apply knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure product conformity.
• Utilize and interpret precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and pi tapes, to inspect parts and ensure they meet specifications.
• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials onto machines.
• Adjust machine feeds, speeds, and tool offsets as needed to maintain high-quality production.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime and ensure consistent performance.
• Operate overhead cranes safely to handle materials and parts.
• Maintain accurate inspection documentation and production records.
• Communicate effectively within a team environment and with supervisors to ensure priorities and assignments are met efficiently.
• Demonstrate a continuous commitment to improving efficiency, productivity, and quality.
• Adhere to all company health, safety, and environmental policies and maintain excellent housekeeping standards.
