Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist on 2nd shift to join our aerospace manufacturing team. You will perform independent setups on CNC turning and grinding equipment, run processes, and inspect parts to print and spec with tight tolerances.

You will read blueprints, interpret GD&T, adjust programs as needed, and support continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or vocational certificate.
• Minimum 5 years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with CNC turning and/or grinding and independent machine setups.
• Proven ability to machine parts to tight tolerances using precision measurement tools.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent setups on CNC lathes, turning centers, and grinding equipment, including work holding, tooling, offsets, and first-piece validation.
• Operate CNC and grinding equipment, monitor process performance, and adjust to maintain quality and dimensional control.
• Verify wheel/tool selection, dress grinding wheels, monitor tool wear and part growth, and impact process capability.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, routers, specifications, GD&T, and inspection requirements.
• Make minor G-code edits as allowed and perform in-process/final inspection using precision measuring tools.
• Document inspection results and validate first-piece acceptance to requirements.
