Job summary

Sumitomo Electric Carbide Manufacturing is seeking a CNC Machine Operator for 2nd and 3rd shift to operate semi-automatic CNC equipment, learn setup processes, and maintain tight tolerances. The role involves reading part drawings, using precision instruments, and reporting issues.

The ideal candidate has 1+ years of CNC machining experience, knowledge of machine shop practices, and the ability to lift 25 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent is required.
• Knowledge of machine shop practices, techniques, operations.
• Basic math, logical reasoning, and problem solving skills are needed.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds may be required.
• Preferred candidates have experience operating CNC grinding equipment (Walter, Ewag, Rollamatic, ANCA, Waida, Vollmer).
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow directions.
• 1+ years of CNC Machining experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate and adjust semi-automatic CNC machining equipment to perform standard and repetitive sequences of operations.
• Learn the set up process.
• Recognize tooling and procedures, adhering to tight tolerances.
• Follow detailed instructions, work from standard coding and operational data to change or mount tools and position work piece.
• Adjust machine and fixture stops to maintain finish and tolerance requirements.
• Use precision measuring instruments to check and inspect work; report malfunctions.
• Assist with setups or proving of programs under supervision.
• Work procedures and products are subject to check and inspection.
• Follow safety regulations and keep a clean, orderly work area.
