Job summary

Eaton’s IS AER FED division is seeking a Machinist - 1st Shift in Rumford, RI. Core hours are 7 am to 3 pm, Monday through Friday. The role involves setting up and operating Okuma CNC lathes, conventional and programmable CMMs, and heat-treating components to tight tolerances.

Candidate must have a High School Diploma or GED, plus a Machinist or Tool & Die program or equivalent experience, and at least 3 years in CNC turning or milling. Union location with 60-day probation.

Qualifications

• CNC Turning and Milling experience required.
• Ability to read blueprints and setup sheets.
• Experience with precision measurement tools may be required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Okuma CNC lathes and other equipment.
• Operate conventional and programmable CMMs.
• Maintain tight tolerances and align work with reference surfaces.
• Work from blueprints and setup sheets to produce parts within .0001" tolerance.
• Use measurement tools to verify parts and document results.
• Participate in continuous improvement to improve quality and productivity.
