Job summary

Eaton in Rumford, RI seeks a Machinist on 1st shift to set up and operate CNC lathes and related equipment, producing precision components to tight tolerances. The role includes in-process inspection, fixture setup, heat treatment, and continuous improvement participation.

The position offers a 7 am–3 pm schedule, a unionized plant, and a 60-day probation with potential to join the union. Relocation is not offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Machinist or Tool & Die program or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years CNC turning or milling experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes and other equipment to produce precision parts.
• Perform in-process inspections and use micrometers and gauges for part verification.
• Maintain close tolerances and follow safety and 5S practices.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with engineers.
