Job summary

Sentry Equipment Erectors LLC, a ProMach subsidiary, seeks a skilled CNC Machinist to operate manual and CNC machinery, read engineering drawings, and maintain tight tolerances. You will set up equipment, measure parts for accuracy, and help keep production on schedule in a safe, organized shop.

Base pay ranges from $21.50 to $32.00 per hour, with comprehensive benefits including medical/dental, life insurance, generous PTO, and a company-matched retirement plan.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship in machining is a plus.
• Proven experience as a Machinist with strong blueprint reading, precision measurements, and machine setup.
• Experience with both manual and CNC machine operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read & understand blueprint drawings (fractions / decimals).
• Identify measuring instruments to use (tape line, micrometers, dial indicator & calipers).
• Source materials and purchased parts for projects.
• Perform basic machinery maintenance as needed.
• Set up and operate CNC equipment to machine parts to specifications while maintaining production.

Job Overview

The CNC Machinist is responsible for operating and maintaining manual and CNC machinery to produce precision parts in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications. The role involves setting up and operating equipment, measuring parts for accuracy, maintaining tolerance, performing routine machine maintenance, and ensuring safe and efficient operations. The machinist is also responsible for maintaining production schedules, assisting in employee training, and contributing to a safe and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Read & understand blueprint drawings (fractions / decimals)
• Understanding what measuring instruments to use for application. (tape line, micrometers, dial indicator & calipers etc.)
• Source materials and purchased part for projects
• Perform basic machinery maintenance as needed
• Making minor tool wear and depth offsets
• Set up and operate CNC equipment to machine parts to the proscribed specifications while maintaining a satisfactory level of production.
• Strictly follow all job safety requirements and procedures including machine guarding, forklift and hoist operation and housekeeping requirements.
• Ensure all machines set ups and shutdowns are in line with prescribed safety procedures.
• This includes all necessary Lockout/Tagout procedures when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship in machining is a plus.
• Proven experience as a Machinist, with a strong understanding of blueprint reading, precision measurements, and machine setup.
• Experience with both manual and CNC machine operations is a plus.
