Job summary

Sentry Equipment, a ProMach subsidiary, is seeking a CNC Machinist to operate both manual and CNC machinery and to read blueprints for precision parts. You will help maintain schedules, train others, and uphold safety standards on the shop floor.

The role emphasizes setting up equipment, selecting proper measuring tools, and ensuring parts meet tolerances while maintaining a safe, organized work environment. This is an on-site position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; machining certification is a plus.
• Proven experience as a Machinist with blueprint reading and precision measurements.
• Experience with both manual and CNC machines is a plus.

Responsibilities

We specialize in integrating packaging equipment and conveying systems into cost-effective and efficient plan designs.

The CNC Machinist is responsible for operating and maintaining manual and CNC machinery to produce precision parts in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications. The role involves setting up and operating equipment, measuring parts for accuracy, maintaining tolerance, performing routine machine maintenance, and ensuring safe and efficient operations. The machinist is also responsible for maintaining production schedules, assisting in employee training, and contributing to a safe and organized work environment.

Are you excited about this work?

• Read & understand blueprint drawings (fractions / decimals)
• Understanding what measuring instruments to use for application. (tape line, micrometers, dial indicator & calipers etc.)
• Source materials and purchased part for projects
• Perform basic machinery maintenance as needed
• Making minor tool wear and depth offsets
• Set up and operate CNC equipment to machine parts to the proscribed specifications while maintaining a satisfactory level of production.
• Strictly follow all job safety requirements and procedures including machine guarding, forklift and hoist operation and housekeeping requirements.
• Ensure all machines set ups and shutdowns are in line with prescribed safety procedures. This includes all necessary Lockout/Tagout procedures when needed.

• Proven experience as a Machinist, with a strong understanding of blueprint reading, precision measurements, and machine setup.
• Experience with both manual and CNC machine operations is a plus.
