Job summary

ProMach is seeking a CNC Machinist (Router) for our Statham, GA facility to set up and run CNC equipment, producing high quality parts for custom packaging machines. You will read engineering prints, select tools, and ensure accurate tolerances while following safety procedures.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or equivalent, experience with metal and plastic parts, calipers/micrometers, and the ability to work overtime on first shift. ProMach offers competitive pay and benefits.

Keep reading. We are currently seeking a CNC Machinist (Router) for our Statham, GA facility. This position requires familiarity with CNC set up and running machines to produce high quality machined parts for custom designed packaging machines. Benchmark designs and manufactures high-performance, low-maintenance, easy-to-operate product handling systems for food and bakery manufacturers, including distribution systems, automatic cartoner infeeds, shuttle and disk feeders, stackers, mergers, tray loaders, and slug loaders. Benchmark also manufactures the Southern Packaging line of intermittent motion horizontal form fill seal pouch packaging systems. Job responsibilities include the following:

Job Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret engineering prints, manufacturing manuals and both verbal and written instructions to plan machine set up, correct adjustments, and selection of tools. This includes spindle speeds, tool feed rates, work holding methods, and all operational sequencing.
  • Produce high quality machined parts.
  • Strictly follow all job safety requirements and procedures which include machine guarding, forklift truck and hoist operation and housekeeping requirements.
  • Identify and choose the proper material from raw material inventory for each job order.
  • May be required to cut raw material from larger piece of necessary raw material.
  • Debur all necessary parts after machining operation to meet required specifications and tolerances.
  • Measure and inspect parts for quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Overtime and weekend work are sometimes required.
  • This is a first shift position that reports to the machine shop supervisor.
Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to Operate CNC machinery
  • Experience in working with metal and plastics, use of calipers, micrometers and other tools used to check parts against drawings.
  • Familiarity with operating drill press and saws
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed blueprint drawings.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to stay organized an insure that the work area is clean, safe and orderly.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and well as be punctual and dependable.
  • Ability to work overtime when needed.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license to occasionally pick up and deliver parts.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to perform basic math including working with and converting between fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to do the essential physical requirements include but not limited to bending, stooping, reaching and lifting.
