Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Machine Setup & Operation: Set up and operate 3/4/5-axis CNC milling machines and CNC lathes, installing tooling and loading programs.
• Blueprint Reading & Specs: Interpret drawings, GD&T callouts to guide machining.
• Troubleshooting & Adjustments: Adjust speeds/feeds, tool offsets, and codes to maintain precision.
• Quality Inspection: Perform first-piece, in-process and final inspections with precision measuring tools.
• Deburring & Finishing: Deburr and finish parts to specifications.
• Maintenance & Cleanliness: Perform routine maintenance and keep a safe shop floor.
• Documentation & Yield Logging: Maintain production logs and non-conformance reports in ERP.

We are seeking an experienced and precise CNC Machinist to join our production team in Ronkonkoma, NY. In this role, you will set up, operate, and maintain computer numerical control (CNC) mills and lathes to fabricate complex metal and plastic precision components. You will read blueprints, perform first-piece inspections, adjust tool offsets, and ensure all parts meet tight tolerance requirements and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Machine Setup & Operation: Set up and operate 3/4/5-axis CNC milling machines and CNC lathes, securing workpieces, installing tooling, and loading programs into controls (e.g., Fanuc, Haas, Mazak).
• Blueprint Reading & Specs: Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, process sheets, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) callouts to guide the machining process.
• Troubleshooting & Adjustments: Adjust speeds, feeds, tool offsets, and program codes (G-code / M-code) to correct deviations, resolve tool wear issues, and maintain component precision.
• Quality Inspection: Perform first-piece, in-process, and final dimensional inspections using precision measuring tools, including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, dial indicators, and CMM equipment.
• Deburring & Finishing: Clean, deburr, and finish machined parts to specifications prior to sending them to subsequent departments or final inspection.
• Maintenance & Cleanliness: Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery, monitor coolant levels, clean chips, and maintain a safe, organized shop floor following 5S principles.
• Documentation & Yield Logging: Maintain accurate production logs, labor tracking, and non-conformance reports within the company ERP system.
