Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Setup & Operation: perform setups on CNC mills, lathes, manual machines and inspection equipment for production jobs.
• Process Maintenance: update standard setup procedures for primary processes.
• Blueprint Reading & Tolerances: read engineering blueprints and tool instructions to hold tolerances.
• Program Transfers: transfer CNC programs to machine controllers.
• Quality & Inspection: perform dimensional/visual inspections and document measurements.
• Training & Mentorship: mentor less experienced machinists on setup techniques and safety.
• Multi-Machine Operation: run multiple machines concurrently when feasible.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented CNC Setup Machinist to join our team on 3rd Shift. In this role, you will set up CNC lathes, CNC mills, manual machines, and inspection equipment to support a high-volume, production-paced manufacturing environment. salary: $53,300 - $89,500 per year

work hours: 9 PM - 5 AM

Responsibilities

• Setup & Operation: Perform responsive setups on CNC mills, lathes, manual machines, and inspection equipment for production jobs.
• Process Maintenance: Maintain and update standard setup procedures for all critical manufacturing processes.
• Blueprint Reading & Tolerances: Work directly from engineering blueprints, job routings, and tooling instructions to hold tight tolerances.
• Program Transfers: Utilize basic computer skills to transfer CNC programs to a variety of machine controllers.
• Quality & Inspection: Perform dimensional and visual inspections using precision hand measuring tools; document all measurements and shop floor paperwork.
• Training & Mentorship: Guide and train less experienced machinists on proper setup techniques and shop safety.
• Multi-Machine Operation: Run multiple machines simultaneously when cycle times permit.

The essential functions of this role include:

• working in a smoke free environment
• wearing steel toe shoes
• working in a non-temperature controlled environment
• manual lifting up to 50lbs
• standing for 6 hours at one time
• working up to 5 hrs of overtime per week
