Your onboarding begins on 1st shift (Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–3:30 pm) before transitioning to your permanent schedule.A day in this roleYou arrive before the floor ramps up, review production priorities, and huddle with Laborers and Machinists to align on safety, quality, and throughput. You verify that procedures are current and followed, coach your team on best practices, and personally jump in to machine steel components to exact specifications when needed. You coordinate closely with site and corporate leadership to keep work orders flowing smoothly, oversee heavy equipment operations, and ensure documentation is accurate and submitted on time. You cultivate trust, build a cooperative team culture, and maintain a deep familiarity with our materials so you can support every workstation. You’ll also steer day‑to‑day activities for the St. Clair site to keep operations on plan.Core responsibilitiesPlan and run optimal daily workflows aligned to the Atlantic Track business plan.Build, mentor, and motivate a high-performing team.Own safety: write/enforce procedures and document effective training programs.Partner with site and corporate leaders for seamless coordination.Machine steel parts to meet precise requirements.Lead Laborers and Machinists to achieve production and warehousing targets.Oversee operation of heavy equipment and material handling.Maintain accurate, timely paperwork and reporting.Develop hands-on knowledge of all work materials to support the team.Minimum qualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent (GED, HiSET, TASC, etc.).8+ years of CNC experience in a manufacturing environment.5+ years of leadership/management in manufacturing.Experience collaborating with all levels of management; license or prior experience operating heavy equipment; welding certifications; and CNC machining certification or equivalent experience.Ability to obtain internal certifications for forklift and overhead crane operation.Hands-on background producing with steel, including machining.Strong CNC machining capabilities.Frequently lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.Ability to work on-site in Richmond, Illinois.Preferred qualificationsBachelor’s degree in a related field.Proven success recruiting, hiring, training, developing, and motivating teams.Tools, tech, and proficienciesLeadership / People ManagementCNC ToolingLean Manufacturing PrinciplesCNC Machine Setup & ChangeoverTroubleshooting CNC MachinesCNC Mill (3–4 axis VMC)CNC Mill (5+ axis VMC)FANUCHaasBenefitsWe offer competitive pay, a 401(k) with company match, health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, paid time off, an employee shared ownership plan, and more.Equal OpportunityWe are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
