Job Description

BAE Systems in Aiken, South Carolina, is seeking experienced CNC Machine Operators responsible for machining, fabricating, and processing parts while meeting department and plant goals for cost, quality, delivery, safety, and other performance measures. The role primarily involves operating equipment with CNC controllers, setting machine controls, measuring and loading tools, fixtures, tapes, and programs, and operating the machine. Additional responsibilities include loading and unloading parts onto/from machines, using hand tools and other devices to secure parts, machining parts to blueprint specifications, checking parts for quality, troubleshooting issues, and taking corrective actions. Operators will also move parts and materials using hoists, pallet jacks, or forklifts, complete necessary paperwork, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and train others as needed.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • At least 2 years of experience operating CNC-controlled equipment in a metal cutting/metalworking manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to apply shop math, read blueprints, and calculate dimensions.
  • Proficiency in using gauges and measuring tools to assess part quality.
  • Physical ability to reach up to 50 inches, lift 30 pounds, and apply 30 pounds of torque.
  • Understanding of work orders, machine controls, fixtures, and tool requirements, with the ability to make adjustments.
  • Knowledge of safety policies, procedures, and machine features.
  • Ability to operate hoist, pallet jack, or forklift, with forklift operation requiring certification and the ability to step onto the forklift from a 14-inch height.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Effective time management and planning skills.
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $42,436 - $67,898

Note: Salaries are influenced by market pay structures, candidate skills, education, experience, and other factors.
