Position Overview

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Studer Grinder Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be an expert in setting up and operating CNC cylindrical shaft grinding machines, with a strong focus on quality, precision, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC, Studer cylindrical grinding machines

• Interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances

• Conduct in-process inspections and quality checks using air gages, micrometers, calipers, height stands, and other precision measuring tools

• Troubleshoot and make adjustments to maintain quality and productivity

• Follow SOPs, RAMs and Health & Safety rules for machining operations

• Maintain clean and organized work area following safety and quality standards

• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams on process improvements and part evaluations

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 1-3 years of hands-on experience operating Studer or similar CNC cylindrical grinding machines
• Experience using operating software, WinMax or similar
• Deep understanding of grinding theory, tool selection, and wheel dressing
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, stage drawings, and job orders
• Experience machining parts to extremely tight tolerances (+/- .0001")
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills

• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments, air gages, micrometers, calipers, height stands etc.

• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
• Experience with custom, low-volume, or high-mix part runs is a plus

We emphasize that this position is required to set-up the machine for low volume parts and while some training will be provided on our in-house operations, knowledge of machine set-ups is critical.
