Position Overview
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Studer Grinder Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be an expert in setting-up and operating CNC cylindrical shaft grinding machines, with a strong focus on quality, precision, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC, Studer cylindrical grinding machines
Interpret complex blueprints and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances
Conduct in-process inspections and quality checks using air gages, micrometers, calipers, height stands, and other precision measuring tools
Troubleshoot and make adjustments to maintain quality and productivity
Follow SOPs, RAMs and Health & Safety rules for machining operations
Maintain a clean and organized work area following safety and quality standards
Collaborate with engineering and quality teams on process improvements and part evaluations
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience operating Studer or similar CNC cylindrical grinding machines
Experience using operating software WinMax or similar
Understanding of tool selection and wheel dressing
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, stage drawings, and job orders
Experienced in machining parts to extremely tight tolerances (+/- .0001")
Good GD&T interpretation skills
Proficient use of precision measuring instruments, air gages, micrometers, calipers, height stands etc.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
Experience with custom, low-volume, or high-mix part runs is a plus

We emphasize that this position is required to set-up the machine for low volume parts and while some training will be provided on our in-house operations, knowledge of machine set-ups is critical.
