Job summary

Role Description The CNC Machine Operator is a full-time, on-site role located in Boston, MA. In this position, the operator sets up, programs, and runs CNC machinery to cut, shape, and finish stone materials according to detailed specifications and design plans. Daily responsibilities include loading and securing materials, monitoring machine performance, performing basic maintenance, and conducting visual and dimensional inspections to ensure parts meet quality standards. The role also involves reading and interpreting technical drawings, coordinating with fabrication and installation teams, and following safety protocols to maintain a clean and secure work environment. The CNC Machine Operator contributes directly to the precision and quality of countertops and other stone products produced for customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machinery for cutting, shaping, drilling, and profiling granite, marble, quartz, quartzite, and other stone materials.
• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC and waterjet cutting equipment according to fabrication requirements.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, templates, specifications, and measurements.
• Adjust machine settings, tooling, and cutting parameters to ensure accuracy.
• Perform precision cutting, sink cutouts, custom shapes, and detailed stone fabrication.
• Inspect finished products to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy.
• Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting.
• Identify and report equipment malfunctions or production issues.
• Coordinate with fabrication team members to maintain an efficient workflow.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

Qualifications:

• Mid-level CNC operating experience, preferably 3–5 years in stone fabrication or countertop manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience working with granite, marble, quartz, or quartzite.
• Knowledge of CNC machine setup, operation, tooling, and cutting processes.
• Ability to interpret fabrication drawings, templates, and measurements.
• Understanding of safe stone-handling and fabrication procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a commitment to quality workmanship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience operating waterjet cutting machines for stone fabrication.
• Familiarity with CNC programming and CAD/CAM software.
• Experience with sink cutouts, countertop edges, custom shapes, and precision cutting.
• Ability to perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
