Granite Works Stone Design in Cleveland is seeking a CNC Programmer and Operator to develop and implement precise CNC programs for our stone fabrication operations. You will program, operate, and optimize CNC machines, select tools, and monitor production to meet exact design specifications.

You may visit job sites to create templates and collaborate with design and production teams to ensure quality, efficiency, and adherence to safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3‑5 years of manufacturing or fabrication experience.
• 3+ years of CNC machine experience; Brenton CNC preferred.
• CAD/CAM experience required.
• Stone/Granite/Countertop or construction background preferred.
• Ability to multi‑task and adapt in a fluid environment.
• Strong time management, organization, and independent work skills.
• Effective communication with professional etiquette; good negotiation skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; attention to detail and problem solving.
• Reliable attendance and ability to meet strict deadlines.

Job Summary:

As a CNC Programmer and Operator at Granite Works Stone Design, you will be responsible for developing and implementing precise CNC programs for our advanced machinery to shape and finish stone countertops according to specific design specifications. Your role includes programming and operating CNC machines, selecting appropriate tools, and monitoring production to ensure quality and accuracy. You will collaborate closely with our design and production teams to optimize workflow and ensure efficient use of materials. This role may include visiting job sites to create precise templates for custom stone countertop installations, using digital or manual templating tools. Attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and a strong understanding of CNC technology are essential to succeed in this position.

Duties / Responsibilities:

• Program and operate CNC machines to cut, shape, and fabricate stone countertops, ensuring precision and accuracy in all processes.
• Visit job sites to create precise templates for custom stone countertop installations, using digital or manual templating tools.
• Develop a comprehensive knowledge of Company stone products and procedures through on‑the‑job training.
• Obtain and sustain comprehensive knowledge of the Company’s fabrication and manufacturing processes and machinery.
• Develop understanding of the production scheduling process and client project needs.
• Participate in Production team meetings, collaborate and communicate with leadership and other key departments regarding project status updates, foreseeable and current production concerns, and other pertinent information.
• Become proficient with the applications and systems used for manufacturing, production, and scheduling at Granite Works Stone Design.
• Develop working knowledge of continuous improvement, efficiency standards, and OSHA safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

• 3‑5 years of manufacturing/custom shop/fabrication work experience or a related field (Preferred).
• 3+ years of experience working with CNC machines – Brenton CNC experience preferred.
• CAD/CAM experience required.
• Stone/Granite/Countertop or construction experience preferred.
• Ability to multi‑task, adapt and remain flexible in a fluid work environment.
• Excellent prioritizing, time management, organizational skills, and ability to work independently.
• Ability to communicate effectively with exceptional professional etiquette, strong critical thinking, and negotiation skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Open to learning new skills and being cross‑trained in different areas of shop work.
• A positive attitude with a dedication to high‑quality work and craftsmanship.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines with limited supervision.
