Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Lexington, NC is seeking an Overhaul Technician - CNC for our locomotive wheelset overhaul shop. You will set up and operate CNC wheel lathes, program adjustments, and ensure precise dimensions per drawings to support production needs.

The role requires 5+ years CNC programming/lathe experience, 2+ years mechanical background, and ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment. Shift is 1st, Monday to Friday, 6am to 2:30pm.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience with CNC programming, CNC machine setup, and operation of lathe equipment.
• Experience operating manual and/or CNC lathes; wheel lathes or railroad machining equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Overhaul maintenance of locomotive wheelsets to meet production plans.
• Removal, inspection, and fitment of components per work instructions.
• Re-profile of wheelsets using wheel lathe machine when required.
• Set up and adjust CNC-controlled wheel lathe equipment to meet production/quality standards.
• Inspect machines, troubleshoot issues, and verify dimensional accuracy.
