Qualifications

High School Diploma / GED.
2+ years of mechanical work experience.
Experience documenting actions and operations.
Knowledge of tool control and PPE.
Ability to read technical drawings and publications.
Ability to produce detailed technical reports.
Strong English verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

Perform overhaul maintenance on locomotive trucks to meet production schedules and ensure reliable equipment.
Remove, inspect, and fit components according to work instructions for quality and safety.
Re-profile wheelsets using a wheel lathe to restore geometry and safe operation.
Pre-clean components to prepare for inspection and repair.
Move locomotive trucks using overhead cranes and lifting devices.
Coordinate with warehouse to obtain spare parts and materials to minimize delays.
Maintain a clean, organized workshop and support safe, productive operations.
