Job summary

Control Devices, LLC is seeking a skilled Machinist for the 2nd shift in Fenton, MO. The CNC Lathe Setup/Operator will set up and operate CNC lathes, troubleshoot, and produce precision components following safety procedures and documented instructions.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of CNC lathe setup experience, blueprints reading skills, and working knowledge of G-code and M-code. Training and mentoring of operators may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years CNC lathe setup experience.
• Proficient in complete setups on at least one listed lathe brand.
• Strong blueprint reading skills.
• Working knowledge of G-Code and M-Code.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments.
• Strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to troubleshoot machining and quality issues independently.
• Reading work instructions, SOPs, and technical docs in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete machine setups on CNC lathes with minimal supervision.
• Set up, operate, adjust, and troubleshoot CNC lathes to produce quality machined components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, and setup documentation.
• Understand and work with G-Code and M-Code programming.
• Set tooling, offsets, speeds, and feeds for various materials.
• Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment including micrometers and calipers.
• Make tool wear adjustments and minor program edits as needed.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and perform minor machine repairs or adjustments.
• Maintain quality standards and complete production documentation.
• Assist with training operators and less experienced setup personnel.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
