Job summary

Monroechamber is seeking a CNC Lathe Operator in Fenton, MO for 2nd shift. Duties include setting up and running CNC lathes, loading raw materials, reading blueprints, and performing in-process inspections to ensure tight tolerances.

Must have basic CNC controls understanding and the ability to work independently or with a team. The role requires reading GD&T, using calipers and micrometers, and maintaining quality while documenting production and quality data.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience reading blueprints, GD&T, routings, and inspection requirements.
• Ability to operate CNC lathe machines and perform in-process inspections with basic tooling.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC lathe machines to produce parts per drawings and instructions.
• Load materials, verify tooling, and adjust machines as needed.
• Read blueprints and GD&T, ensuring dimensional accuracy with calipers and micrometers.
• Perform in-process inspections and document results.
• Make minor program edits and offsets to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and escalate when necessary.
• Maintain 5S in the work area and perform routine maintenance.
• Collaborate with team to meet production goals.

CNC Lathe Operator

Position Title: CNC Lathe Operator

Salary: $22.75-$26.50 per hour

Shift: 2nd

Hours: 2:15pm-12:45am (Mon-Thurs)

Location: Fenton, MO

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC lathe machines to produce parts according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Load raw materials and fixtures, verify correct tooling, and make necessary machine adjustments.
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, routings, and inspection requirements.
• Perform in-process inspections using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Make minor program edits and offset adjustments as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Identify and troubleshoot machining issues, escalating concerns when necessary.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work areas clean and organized in accordance with 5S standards.
• Accurately complete production and quality documentation.
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with team members, leads, and supervisors to meet production goals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience operating CNC lathe machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Basic understanding of CNC controls and machining processes.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work assigned shifts, including overtime as needed.
• Technical or vocational training in CNC machining or manufacturing technology preferred.
• Experience with multi-axis CNC lathes preferred.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles preferred.
• Experience working in a regulated or high-quality manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for precision work.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, machinery, and moving equipment.
