Job summary

SURGE Staffing is seeking a dependable CNC Lathe Operator in the Rod Department to set up and run CNC lathes, turning metal or plastic parts to specification. You will read blueprints and use precision tools to ensure parts meet quality standards.

Starting pay is $18.00 per hour with the possibility of higher starting wages based on machining experience and skill. Shifts offered are 2nd and 3rd, with a focus on safety and 5S workplace practices.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC lathes or rod lathes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
• Understanding of machining processes, tooling, and dimensional tolerances.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes to turn, bore, thread, form, and face materials according to job specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and machining instructions.
• Load, secure, and align materials using chucks, fixtures, and other holding devices.
• Adjust machine settings, including speeds, feeds, and tool offsets, to maintain accurate dimensions.
• Inspect finished and in-process parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
