Job summary

South Bay Solutions, Inc. in Fremont, CA is seeking a Swing shift CNC lathe operator to cut metal and plastic parts with micron‑level precision. You will monitor tool life, adjust offsets, and document results while upholding safety standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and prior machine shop experience. Proficiency with micrometers, calipers and standard inspection tools is important, as is teamwork and a commitment to meeting production targets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in a machine shop environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Load / unload of CNC machine.
• Inspect produced parts & adjust offsets to meet print requirements.
• Document inspection results while running job.
• Strive to meet or exceed set cycle times. Run multiple machines whenever possible.
• Accurately log in & out of jobs, including correct quantities.
• Support basic machine maintenance requirements.
• Report problems/concerns immediately to supervisor/management.
• Communicate effectively within the team & pass down information to different shifts.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment for their area.

Summary

The occupation requires monitoring and operating CNC (computer numerically controlled) lathe machines to cut metal and plastic parts for the manufacturing industry. This includes monitoring tool life, adjusting tool offsets, periodic inspection of part & documentation of results while maintaining safety standards.

Required Skills

• Basic math and computing knowledge
• Ability to meet production requirements
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Experience using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other basic measuring equipment
