Job summary

South Bay Solutions is seeking a CNC Lathe Machinist to produce machined parts per print by setting up and operating a CNC lathe, while maintaining quality, safety, and records. The role requires strong CNC experience with setup from notes and travelers, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications include 5–7 years of lathe setup, reading prints with GD&T, and proficiency with G/M codes, inspection tools, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years of lathe setup experience.
• Able to read and interpret prints, including GD&T.
• Must setup from program notes and shop traveler.
• Work with minimal supervision to resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Produce operator-friendly, quality set-ups meeting print requirements.
• Complete set-ups within allotted time and maintain efficiency.
• Review and recommend changes to production tooling.
• Assist others in resolving issues when needed.
• Report equipment deficiencies to the Manager.
• Support and assist machine operators in maintenance and repair tasks.
• Maintain a safe, efficient, and clean work environment.

Summary

This position requires candidate to produce machined parts per print by setting up and operating a CNC Lathe machine, maintaining quality, safety standards and record keeping. This position requires strong CNC experience involving setting up and operating lathes. Must be able to work in a fast-paced & challenging environment.

Shift:

• Swing: 2:30pm - 11:05pm

Required Skills

• Minimum 5-7 years of Lathe setup experience.
• Work with minimal supervision to resolve issues.
• Must be able to setup from program notes & shop traveler.
• Must be able to read & interpret prints, including GD&T.
• Firm understanding of CNC programming, including G/M codes & editing.
• Inspect own parts with attention to detail.
• Proficient with inspection tools & methods.
• Communicate effectively within the team, different shifts, & management.

Education / Experience

• High School diploma or GED required. Accredited Trade School and or Associate degree preferred.
• At least 5 - 7 years of experience
