South Bay Solutions, Inc. is a high-precision machine shop in Fremont, CA, delivering parts for semiconductor and medical devices with micron-level tolerances.

The role oversees daily manufacturing operations, coordinating to ensure safe, high-quality, on-time production across shifts. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years in contract manufacturing, strong leadership, and expertise in CNC interpretation, lean methods, and quality systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of management or supervisorial experience in a contract manufacturing environment.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Manufacturing engineering is a plus.
• Knowledgeable in subtractive manufacturing processes, quality control and safety standards.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise manufacturing personnel on the day-to-day activities of the manufacturing personnel.
• Collaborate with master scheduler to create daily and weekly production schedules.
• Manage the allocation of resources, including manpower, equipment, material to adhere to the production schedule.
• Enforce quality standards; investigate and address quality issues in a timely manner.
• Communicate production priorities, goals, targets, and changes effectively to the manufacturing team across all shifts.
• Enforce accurate production records and reports including production logs, job quantity, machine resources and non-conformances.
• Monitor manufacturing personnel performance and attendance.
• Collaborate with Quality Department to resolve Quality challenges, internal or external.
• Promote a culture of Quality, safety and teamwork.

Job Description

• Knowledgeable in subtractive manufacturing processes, quality control and safety standards.
• Ability to identify, analyze and troubleshoot production issues.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement.
• Proficient in the use of personal computers to perform daily work.
• Knowledgeable in interpreting CNC programs (G-codes) in mill and lathe machines.
• Familiar with the Microsoft Office suite of programs and MRP systems.

Education / Experience

• Minimum 5 years of management or supervisorial experience in a contract manufacturing environment.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Manufacturing engineering is a plus

Schedule:

• 8 hour day shift
• Monday to Friday
