South Bay Solutions in Fremont, CA is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to set up and operate lathes, read prints, and ensure parts meet specifications. The role demands GD&T proficiency, and the ability to work from program notes while upholding safety and quality in a fast-paced shop.

The successful candidate will inspect parts, follow strict quality standards, and collaborate with other shifts and supervision to maintain production schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-7 years of lathe setup experience.
• Ability to read prints and GD&T.
• Proficient with inspection tools and methods.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication within the team and shifts.

Responsibilities

• Produce operator-friendly setups that meet print requirements.
• Work efficiently and diligently to complete setups within allotted time.
• Review and recommend changes to production tooling.
• Assist others in resolving issues / problems when needed.
• Report manufacturing equipment deficiencies to the Manager.

Summary

This position requires candidate to produce machined parts per print by setting up and operating a CNC Lathe machine, maintaining quality, safety standards and record keeping. This position requires strong CNC experience involving setting up and operating lathes. Must be able to work in a fast-paced & challenging environment.

Required Skills

• Minimum 5-7 years of Lathe setup experience.
• Work with minimal supervision to resolve issues.
• Must be able to setup from program notes & shop traveler.
• Must be able to read & interpret prints, including GD&T.
• Firm understanding of CNC programming, including G/M codes & editing.
• Inspect own parts with attention to detail.
• Proficient with inspection tools & methods.
• Communicate effectively within the team, different shifts, & management.

Responsibilities

• Swing: 2:30pm - 11:05pm
