CNC Lathe/Mill Turn Operator – 2nd Shift

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe/MillTurn Operator to join our client’s team on the 2nd shift. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC machines, especially for new product setups and programs. You’ll work with tight tolerances and ensure precision in every part produced.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC Lathe/MillTurn machines according to job specifications and setup sheets
• Review and test new programs for accuracy and tooling clearance
• Prevent machine crashes by checking fixture and tool paths, and verifying proper offsets
• Interpret technical blueprints, part drawings, and written instructions
• Inspect parts using precision measuring tools including bore gauges, pitch micrometers, and indicators
• Ensure parts meet required tolerances (+/- .001)
• Maintain a clean and organized work area following 6S standards
• May assist in training other operators and lead small teams as needed

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience, ideally in aerospace or precision manufacturing
• Strong ability to work with tight tolerances and follow detailed machining instructions
• Familiarity with mill/turn machines is an asset
• Ability to use a range of measuring tools and interpret measurement results accurately
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and a strong team player with a positive attitude
