Job summary

Johnson Service Group, Inc. is seeking two CNC Lathe Machinist III for the 2nd shift at our aerospace client site in Simi Valley. The role is a temp-to-hire, onsite position with pay between $27 and $37 per hour plus a $2 shift differential.

The candidate will set up, operate, and adjust CNC lathes/mills, read drawings, and make offsets as required. Strong inspection skills and process-improvement mindset are essential, with ITAR compliance and US citizenship or permanent residence required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years operating CNC lathes and/or mills.
• Ensure all phases of part operations meet sketch/drawing requirements.
• Perform in-process quality inspection and maintain records.
• Identify and implement process improvements to reduce quality variation.
• Input data into visual management forms and report results to management.
• Experience with AS9100, Lean, Six Sigma; ITAR; US citizen or permanent resident.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and adjust CNC lathes and mills.

• Make offsets to CNC programs as needed.
• Maintain part conformance to sketches and drawings.
• Maintain accurate in-process quality inspection records.

• Maintain tight tolerances (±0.0003) and profile/roundness.

JSG is seeking 2 CNC Lathe Machinist III's for 2nd shift for a temp to hire, onsite position for our established Aerospace client in Simi Valley.

Pay rate: $27-$37 - $2 shift differential

Position Summary

The candidate will be required to set-up, operate, and adjust CNC machines, Lathes and/or Mills. Work from drawings and written instructions to create parts. May need to make offsets to programs on CNC Machines.

Job Responsibilities

• 5+ years experience operating CNC Lathes and/or Mills
• Responsible for all phases of part operations, maintains part conformance per sketch and drawing requirements.
• Perform and maintain accurate in-process quality inspection and records.
• Identify and recommend process improvements that reduce part quality variation.
• Input data into visual management forms and convey results to management.
• Continuously improve processes, procedures, and eliminate waste.
• Skilled in the use of indicator, gage, dial bores, and plate inspection methods for first article and in-process inspection of precision machined parts.
• Ability to maintain close tolerances (within .0003”), hold .0003 profile, roundness.
• Ideal candidate will have experience with AS9100, 5S, Lean, and Six Sigma Per ITAR requirements, must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card Holder)
