Job summary

Johnson Service Group in Wichita, KS is seeking an experienced Machinist with a minimum of 7 years in the Aviation industry to join our fabrication team on a full‑time basis.

The ideal candidate will have CNC machining experience with 3‑axis and 5‑axis milling, lathe work, a solid ability to read engineering documents, and proficiency in precision metrology. Experience with CAD/CATIA and NC coding is highly valued.

Qualifications

• 7 years CNC machining experience in aviation/fabrication.
• Proficient in 3-axis and 5-axis milling and lathe work.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and NC codes.
• Knowledge of materials used in aviation parts and precision metrology.

Responsibilities

• Operate conventional and CNC mills and lathes to produce detail parts.
• Perform machine set-ups and verify dimensions with precision tools.
• Utilize CAD/CATIA for NC programming and part verification.

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is actively seeking Machinist with 7 years of experience in the Aviation industry for an assignment in Wichita.

Job Description 7 years CNC machining experience working with conventional mills and lathes, must have CNC experience operating 3 and 5 axis mills and preferred experience in machining prototype parts and tooling Ability to read and interpret engineering documents Basic knowledge of properties of mild steel, stainless steel, Titanium and aluminum applicable to part fabrication Ability to use and interpret a variety of precision measurement instruments Working knowledge of shop and trigonometry mathematics Ability to perform machine set-ups Basic knowledge of CAD/CATIA with a clear understanding of NC codes.

Requirements: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES Working knowledge of properties of mild steel, stainless steel, titanium and aluminum applicable to part fabrication Thorough knowledge of proper methods in processing materials and machining parts and shop aids to prevent costly losses of material and machine delays in certification efforts Ability to produce detail parts utilizing conventional 3 axis machining including mills and lathes, must have CNC experience to include 3 axis and 5 axis milling and some CNC lathe Basic knowledge of CAD/CATIA with a clear understanding of NC codes. Ability to operate tool grinding equipment 6. Ability to build shop aid tools to further enhance machining operation for applicable equipment #D500
