Job summary

Johnson Service Group, Inc. seeks a CNC Machinist II for the Downers Grove, IL area on 3rd shift. You will set up, operate, and adjust CNC lathes and mills, reading drawings and making program offsets as needed.

You will inspect parts, maintain tight tolerances, and contribute to continuous improvement under ITAR compliance. Strong quality discipline and familiarity with AS9100, 5S and Lean processes are preferred.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience operating CNC Lathes and/or Mills.
• Skilled in first article and in-process inspection.
• Ability to maintain tight tolerances to .0003 in., hold .0003 profile, and roundness.
• Experience with AS9100, 5S, Lean, and Six Sigma; ITAR compliance required.
• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status required.

Responsibilities

• Set-up, operate, and adjust CNC machines, Lathes and Mills from drawings and instructions.
• Make offsets to programs on CNC machines as needed.
• Maintain part conformance per sketch and drawing requirements.
• Perform in-process quality inspection and record results.
• Identify process improvements to reduce part quality variation.
• Input data into visual management forms and report results to management.
• Continuously improve processes, procedures and eliminate waste.

Job description

JSG is looking for a CNC Machinist II - 3rd Shift for a direct hire position in Downers Grove, IL.

Our established Aerospace and Defense client is in major expansion mode.

4K BONUS! PAY RATE: $25 - $32 + $2 Shift differential + Weekend OT available but not required

Position Summary

The candidate will be required to set-up, operate, and adjust CNC machines, Lathes and/or Mills. Work from drawings and written instructions to create parts. May need to make offsets to programs on CNC Machines.

• Responsible for all phases of part operations, maintains part conformance per sketch and drawing requirements.
• Perform and maintain accurate in-process quality inspection and records.
• Identify and recommend process improvements that reduce part quality variation.
• Input data into visual management forms and convey results to management.
• Continuously improve processes, procedures, and eliminate waste.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience operating CNC Lathes and/or Mills
• Skilled in the use of indicator, gage, dial bores, and plate inspection methods for first article and in-process inspection of precision machined parts.
• Ability to maintain close tolerances (within .0003"), hold .0003 profile, roundness.
• Ideal candidate will have experience with AS9100, 5S, Lean, and Six Sigma Per ITAR requirements, must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card Holder)
