Job summary

Johnson Service Group, Inc. is seeking a CNC Machinist I for the 3rd shift in Downers Grove, IL. The role requires 1-2 years of experience operating CNC lathes and/or mills and performing first article/in-process inspection.

The ideal candidate will set-up, run parts from drawings, and make offsets as needed. A $4,000 bonus and shift differential of $2 per hour accompany a strong opportunity for growth and internal raises.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of CNC lathe and/or mill experience.
• Experience using inspection tools (indicator, gauge, dial bore, plate inspection) and tight tolerances (±0.0003).
• AS9100, 5S, Lean, and Six Sigma knowledge is a plus.
• US Citizen or Permanent Resident required.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and adjust CNC machines per drawings.
• Follow work instructions and ensure part conformance.
• Maintain in-process quality inspections and records.
• Suggest process improvements to reduce part quality variation.
• Input data into visual management forms and report results.

Job description

JSG is looking for a CNC Machinist I (3rd shift) for a direct hire position in Downers Grove, IL. Our well established Aerospace and Defense client is in major expansion mode. 1-2 yrs of experience. 4K BONUS! PAY RATE: $26 + $2 Shift differential + weekend OT available, not required. They promote from w/ in and Supervisors approve raises for going above and beyond w/ out needing their Managers approval.

Position Summary: The candidate will be required to set-up, operate, and adjust CNC machines, Lathes and/or Mills. Work from drawings and written instructions to create parts. May need to make offsets to programs on CNC Machines.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all phases of part operations, maintains part conformance per sketch and drawing requirements.
• Perform and maintain accurate in-process quality inspection and records.
• Identify and recommend process improvements that reduce part quality variation.
• Input data into visual management forms and convey results to management.
• Continuously improve processes, procedures, and eliminate waste.

Qualifications

1-2 years experience operating CNC Lathes and/or Mills Skilled in the use of indicator, gage, dial bores, and plate inspection methods for first article and in-process inspection of precision machined parts. Ability to maintain close tolerances (within .0003”), hold .0003 profile, roundness. Ideal candidate will have experience with AS9100, 5S, Lean, and Six Sigma Per ITAR requirements, must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card Holder)
