Job summary

6 Degrees Search partners with a CNC Machine Tool Distributor to recruit a CNC Field Service Technician. This role focuses on maintaining and repairing CNC machine tools to ensure peak performance.

You will travel to customer sites across MN, WI, SD, ND and surrounding regions, performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing issues, and communicating findings professionally. Strong technical knowledge and 25% travel are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on experience repairing or maintaining CNC machinery.
• Experience with rotating machinery, spindles, and precision bearings.
• Strong understanding of CNC controls and basic electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills with high attention to detail and technical accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machine tools, controls, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and identify opportunities for performance improvement.
• Diagnose and resolve issues with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Read and interpret manuals, technical documentation, and vendor support resources to troubleshoot complex problems.
• Communicate equipment status, repairs, and recommendations to customers clearly and professionally.
• Complete and submit service and installation reports accurately.
