Job summary

6 Degrees Search is seeking a CNC Field Service Technician to travel to customer sites across MN, WI, SD, ND, and surrounding regions to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machine tools and related equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance and diagnose issues across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

The role requires hands-on CNC experience, ability to read schematics, and strong communication to report status and recommendations to customers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience repairing or maintaining CNC machinery.
• Experience with rotating machinery, spindles, and precision bearings.
• Strong understanding of CNC controls and basic electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills with high attention to detail and technical accuracy.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant business software.
• Valid driver’s license required and ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machines and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and identify performance improvements.
• Diagnose and resolve issues with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Use manuals and vendor support to troubleshoot complex problems.
• Communicate equipment status, repairs, and recommendations to customers.
• Complete and submit service and installation reports.
