Job summary

Software Placement Group is seeking a CNC Field Service Technician to support customers across the upper Midwest. You will travel to sites to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machine tools, ensuring peak performance.

The role requires 3+ years hands-on CNC experience, knowledge of spindles and CNC controls, the ability to read schematics, and a professional, customer-focused approach. Travel up to 25% across MN, WI, SD, ND.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on CNC repair/maintenance experience.
• Experience with rotating machinery, spindles, precision bearings.
• Strong knowledge of CNC controls and basic electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic schematics.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Valid drivers license and willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites across MN, WI, SD, ND and nearby region to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machines.
• Perform preventive maintenance and identify performance improvements.
• Diagnose and resolve issues with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Use manuals and vendor support to troubleshoot complex problems.
• Communicate equipment status and recommendations to customers.
• Complete service and installation reports accurately.
• Maintain professionalism and technical excellence with customers.
• Build relationships with vendors, suppliers, and customers.
• Stay current on new technologies and product updates through training.
• Maintain deep technical knowledge of all equipment lines represented.
