Job summary

6 Degrees Search is seeking a CNC Field Service Technician to travel to customer sites across MN, WI, SD, ND to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machine tools and controls.

You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, and read schematics. You will communicate status and submit reports, while staying current on technology and building strong customer relations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on CNC repair/maintenance experience.
• Experience with rotating machinery, spindles, precision bearings.
• Strong CNC controls understanding; basic electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic schematics.
• Excellent troubleshooting and high attention to detail.
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
• Proficient in MS Office and related software.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 25%.
• Professional demeanor when interacting under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites across MN, WI, SD, ND to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machines.
• Perform preventive maintenance and seek performance improvements.
• Diagnose issues with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Use manuals, documentation, and vendor support to troubleshoot complex problems.
• Clearly communicate equipment status, repairs, and recommendations to customers.
• Accurately complete and submit service and installation reports.
• Maintain professionalism and technical excellence to meet commitments.
• Build relationships with vendors, suppliers, and customers.
• Stay informed on new technologies and product updates through training.
• Maintain deep knowledge of all equipment lines represented by the company.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
