Job summary

SPG in Grand Rapids, MI (remote-based with field travel up to 60%) is seeking a CNC Field Service Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair high-precision CNC metal-cutting machines, including milling, grinding, measuring, and automation systems. Provide onsite and remote customer support to keep equipment running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Field service or technical support experience with CNC or industrial automation.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, computer hardware, and software troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with CNC controls or monitoring systems.
• Ability to replace components and configure systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and repair CNC machine tools and automation systems.
• Provide onsite and remote technical support for CNC tools.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, software, hardware, and networking issues.
• Troubleshoot CNC controls, machine-control computers, and monitoring systems.
• Replace computer components and complete system configurations and repairs.
• Document service activities and findings; escalate complex issues.
• Travel to customer facilities for installations and service calls (up to 60%).
