Job summary
Good Samaritan in Canton, SD is seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our not-for-profit team. You will provide resident-centered care, assist with daily living activities, and support the nursing team on varied shifts.
This full-time position includes a $4,000 sign-on bonus, 40 weekly hours, and opportunities to develop skills in a Christian environment focused on quality care and compassion.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
- Minimum age 16; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position.
- 12 hours of continuing education required annually; maintain certifications.
- State registry/other state requirements may apply (UAP Registry).
Responsibilities
- Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
- Record vital signs and monitor resident condition.
- Assist with transfers, repositioning, and range-of-motion exercises.
- Assist with meals and hydration; provide a positive dining experience.
- Document resident interactions and communicate changes to the charge nurse.
- Support wellness/recreational programs and collaborate with the nursing team.
