Job summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) at Good Samaritan in Canton, SD provides resident-centered care during day shifts in a full-time schedule, with two 8-hour and two 12-hour assignments and every other weekend/holiday. A $4,000 sign-on bonus is available and CNA certification is required or in progress.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Required CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing, or CNA in training within four months of start date.
• Annual competency testing and minimum 12 hours of continuing education every year.
• If applicable, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry.
• May be classified as Sanford Category II Driver with a valid driver’s license and driving policy requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
• Record vital signs and document resident information.
• Assist with transfers, range of motion, and activities of daily living.
• Support meals, hydration, and psychosocial needs; follow care plans and infection control policies.
