Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an approved phlebotomy training program.
• 1 year of phlebotomy experience with geriatrics.
• Active CNA certification in the appropriate state.
• Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties according to CNA job code 0101, Department 6300 for HCC.
• Handles lab data collection systems to ensure test orders are properly processed.
• Identifies patients correctly to avoid treatment errors.
• Performs blood collections from patients, mainly older age group.
• Performs specimen processing and distribution of specimens.
• Enforces infection control policies and procedures.
• Communicates with patients courteously and documents information accurately.
• Orders and maintains laboratory supplies.
• Keeps work areas clean and properly stocked.
• Maintains confidentiality and discretion in information handling.
• Coordinates with lab manager on lab-related issues.
• Works independently and in a team environment.
• Follows OSHA, CLIA, and federal regulations.
• Maintains professional appearance.
• Other duties as assigned.
