Job summary

PruittHealth is seeking a nurse assistant with phlebotomy responsibilities to provide routine daily nursing care and phlebotomy services under supervision. You will collect blood samples, identify patients correctly, and ensure timely lab requests and processing.

You must have a CNA certification, a phlebotomy training program completion, and at least 1 year of geriatric phlebotomy experience, with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an approved phlebotomy training program.
• Minimum of 1 year phlebotomy experience with geriatrics.
• Active, current CNA certification in the appropriate state; driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily phlebotomy and blood collection.
• Identifies patients accurately to avoid treatment errors.
• Manages lab data collection, test orders, cancellations, and charges.
• Performs specimen processing, preparation and distribution.
• Maintains infection control practices and safety protocols.
• Communicates with patients in a courteous, gentle manner.
• Orders and maintains laboratory supplies.
• Keeps work areas clean and properly stocked.
• Maintains confidentiality and handles information with discretion.
• Coordinates with lab manager on related issues.
• Works independently and as part of a team.
• Follows OSHA, CLIA and federal regulations.
