Job summary

Pruitthealth Corporation is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant Phlebotomist to provide routine nursing care and timely phlebotomy activities. The role supports patient assessment and care plans under the supervision of a nurse manager, ensuring accurate specimen collection and documentation.

Responsibilities include ensuring proper patient identification, processing specimens, maintaining infection control, and collaborating with the lab team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an approved phlebotomy training program.
• Active CNA certification with valid state license; driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performs CNA duties per job code 0101 and department guidelines.
• Manages lab data collection systems and ensures lab test orders are correctly placed, cancelled, and charged.
• Correctly identifies patients to avoid mistaken treatment.
• Performs blood collections from patients, primarily older adults.
• Prepares and distributes specimens for testing.
• Maintains infection control and adheres to policies and procedures.
• Communicates with patients and documents information accurately.
• Orders and maintains laboratory supplies.
• Keeps work areas clean and properly stocked.
• Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
• Coordinates with lab manager on lab-related issues.
• Works independently and in a team environment.
• Complies with OSHA, CLIA, and federal regulations.
• Maintains professional appearance and attitude.
• Other duties as assigned.
