Job summary

Good Samaritan is hiring a Nursing Assistant for night shift in Howard, SD. This part-time, 20-hour weekly role requires CNA certification and involves resident-centered care, vital signs, and daily living support under RN supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
• Satisfactorily completes yearly competency testing and maintains 12 hours CEU annually; maintaining required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
• Assist with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and meals.
• Record vital signs and communicate changes to the charge nurse.
• Assist with transferring, repositioning, and mobility; provide ROM and passive exercises.
• Support wellness and recreational programs and document outcomes.
