Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant to provide safe basic care, monitor vital signs, assist with daily living activities, and document patient information. You will work closely with the Patient Care Team to ensure continuity of care and responsive communication.

The role requires CNA certification if available, CPR/BLS certification, and ideally a high school diploma or GED with clinical healthcare experience.

Expected pay for this position is $18.98 - $22.34/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• CNA – Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
• CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED Experience (Required for Uncertified Nursing Assistants)
• 6 months experience in a clinical healthcare environment
• 6 months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients
