Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) to provide safe basic care, take vital signs, and assist with daily living activities. Duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts and communicating with the Patient Care Team to ensure continuity of care.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant


• CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED Experience


• 6 months experience in a clinical healthcare environment


• 6 months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients
