Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) to provide safe, basic care, including taking vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, and supporting the patient care team. The role emphasizes accurate documentation and effective communication to ensure consistent care.

Shift differential applies on weekends. Duties may include specimen collection and other tasks as assigned, with opportunities to contribute to patient comfort and safety

Qualifications

• CNA certification required
• CPR (AHA Healthcare Provider) required
• Six months clinical healthcare experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs and provide basic patient care
• Assist patients with activities of daily living
• Collect specimens as required
• Document relevant information in patient charts
• Communicate with the Patient Care Team to ensure continuity of care
• May supervise patients as needed depending on department

Expected pay for this position is $18.98 - $22.34/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• -Licenses/Certifications: CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant
• -Other Licenses/Certifications: CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• -Education: High School Diploma or GED
• -Experience: Six months experience in a clinical healthcare environment Six months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients
