Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) to provide safe basic care to patients, including vital signs, daily living activities, and specimen collection. You will document in patient charts and collaborate with the care team to ensure continuity of care.

Qualified candidates hold CNA certification and CPR/BLS; a High School Diploma or GED is preferred, plus 6 months of clinical healthcare or patient-support experience.

Qualifications

• CNA-Certified Nurse Assistant credential required.
• CPR/HealthCare Provider BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs and assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Record pertinent information in patient charts.
• Communicate with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care.
• May provide constant supervision to patients as needed.

Expected pay for this position is $18.98 - $22.34/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

$2.25/hour for 3rd shift differential

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant
• CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Experience
• 6 months experience in a clinical healthcare environment
• 6 months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients
