Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) to provide safe basic care, monitor vital signs, assist with daily living activities, and support the care team. The role is hourly with a competitive total rewards package.

Qualifications include CNA certification and CPR/BLS; preferred 6 months of clinical experience and a High School Diploma or GED. Sign-on bonus available with a 1-year commitment.

Qualifications

• Six months experience in a clinical healthcare environment.
• Six months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs and provide basic patient care.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Collect specimens as required.
• Observe patients for physical and emotional changes.
• Record information in patient charts accurately.
• Communicate with the Patient Care Team to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide supervision to patients as needed.

Expected pay for this position is $18.98 - $22.34/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

SHIFT DIFFERENTIALS:

• Weekend: $1.75/hour

SIGN-ON BONUS ELIGIBLE!

• $1,200 Sign On Bonus with a 1-year work commitment.

• Must be of legal age to sign a contract, which is at least 18 years old, to be eligible for a sign on bonus. Candidates under 18 years old may still be considered for the position but are not eligible for the sign-on bonus.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• -Licenses/Certifications: CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant
• -Other Licenses/Certifications: CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• -Education: High School Diploma or GED
