Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) to provide safe basic care, take vital signs, assist with activities of daily living, and collect specimens as needed. You will document observations in patient charts and work with the Patient Care Team to ensure continuity of care.

This hourly position offers a shift differential of $2.50/hour for 3rd shift and requires CNA certification and CPR/BLS.

Qualifications

• CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant credential is required.
• CPR certification from American Heart Association Healthcare Provider is mandatory.
• High School Diploma or GED is required or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs and monitor patient condition.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Collect specimens as needed and record observations.
• Document information in patient charts and communicate with the care team.
• May provide supervision to patients as required by department.

Expected pay for this position is $21.45 - $25.70/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

$2.50/hour for 3rd shift differential

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant
• CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED Experience
• 6 months experience in a clinical healthcare environment
• 6 months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients
