Job summary

OSF HealthCare seeks a Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) to provide safe basic patient care, including vital signs, activities of daily living, and specimen collection. You will document in charts and coordinate with the patient care team to ensure continuity of care.

The ideal candidate holds a CNA certification and CPR/BLS; preferred is some clinical healthcare experience. Hourly position with a shift differential of $2.25/hr for 3rd shift.

Qualifications

• CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant credential required.
• CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS required.
• Healthcare setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe basic patient care including vital signs monitoring and ADLs.
• Record information in patient charts and communicate with care team.
• Assist with observation of patient changes and ensure continuity of care.

Expected pay for this position is $18.98 - $22.34/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant
• CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED Experience
• 6 months experience in a clinical healthcare environment
• 6 months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients
