Job summary

Advocate Health Care in Chicago is seeking a nursing assistant (CNA) with an active CNA credential and open to healthcare students, including Nursing, Pre-Med or PAs, even with no prior experience.

You will assist RNs with daily patient care, take vitals and measurements, document in EMR, participate in admissions/discharges, and help with supplies, transport, and basic patient comfort under supervision.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills required.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities.
• Team members will maintain annual educational requirements for hospital based certifications (e.g. DNV, CARF or others).

Responsibilities

• Assists RN with daily patient care including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding and ambulation.
• Measures and documents vitals and other patient data; documents in EMR.
• Performs rounding and communicates patient observations to RN.
• Participates in admission, transfer and discharge processes under supervision.
• Collects specimens and assists with point-of-care testing as directed.
• Maintains supplies and clean work areas; transports items as needed.
